Unveiling Nima Bavardi's Award-Winning Speaker Design

Sperso, a wordplay on 'sperm' and 'sound', is a speaker design that stands out for its unique form and function. The design's inspiration stems from the concept of manliness and the deep penetration of sound into the environment, akin to the fertilization process. This intriguing concept aims to deliver high-quality sound that permeates the surroundings, much like the vital role of a sperm cell.

The speaker's eye-catching design allows users to connect it to various devices such as mobile phones, laptops, and tablets via Bluetooth. It features four buttons for power and volume adjustment. The speaker's placement angle has been meticulously designed following ergonomic standards to provide a powerful sound output without causing harm to the ears. Additionally, the speaker can be recharged using a wireless charger, adding to its convenience.

Sperso's unique properties lie in its construction. The speaker is made of a concave glass bubble, created using popular glass-blowing techniques, with an aluminium speaker fitted into its pit. The buttons are made of silicone, ensuring durability and ease of use. The speaker's largest radius measures 12 cm, and it stands 28 cm tall, making it a compact yet powerful device.

The design process for Sperso began in September 2016 in Tehran and concluded in January 2017. During this period, extensive research was conducted on human auditory senses and the concept of manliness. The primary challenge was to combine functionality and aesthetic beauty into a new speaker concept and establish an emotional connection between Sperso and its users.

Sperso is more than just a speaker; it's a testament to Bavardi's ability to create a design that resonates with users on an emotional level. Its unique concept, coupled with its high-quality sound output and eye-catching design, makes it a worthy recipient of the Silver A' Digital and Electronic Device Design Award in 2017. This award is given to designs that showcase outstanding expertise, innovation, and a high level of excellence, all of which are clearly evident in Sperso.
